The afternoon of 16th August was a fantastic and well-attended event at the Ardsley Gala, with everyone enjoying the Pétanque.
The Ardsley Pétanque Court was officially opened by the Mayor of Barnsley, Liam Hardcastle, and named in memory of Roy Marsden and Trudy Atkinson, in recognition of all their hard work and dedication in helping to get the court started and, after six years, finally completed.
A wonderful tribute to two people who put so much into making it happen. 👏👏

A Wonderful Day Out in Lincoln
A coach load of Barnsley u3a members have enjoyed a truly lovely day in Lincoln, thoughtfully organised by the Travel Team. Members explored the historic castle and magnificent cathedral, taking in their rich heritage and stunning surroundings. A leisurely stroll along the waterfront added to the charm of the day, with plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
To make the occasion even more special, the Red Arrows treated us to a spectacular fly-past—an unforgettable highlight that rounded off a perfect day.

Another super afternoon with the theatre group!
Nineteen members met for lunch at Caffè Piazza in Sheffield before heading to the Lyceum to see To Kill a Mockingbird. It was an excellent production — so engrossing that we forgot to take any photos at the theatre!
What a happy bunch of ladies. A truly lovely day out together.
