Creative Stitches is a well-established group. It has evolved since its inception in 2007. Its aim is to encourage the development of creative textile skills. Sewing, embroidery and mixed media are used in a variety of ways to produce a completed project.
The group is both for beginners and experienced sewers with a keen interest in being creative and extending knowledge and skills in the use of fabric and threads.
Each project (lasting between 6 and 8 weeks) is led by a project leader who provides written information and step by step guidance throughout all the stages of the work.
A basic knowledge of sewing such as how to thread a needle and sew a few simple stitches is all that is required to begin with. If you have an interest in joining, then you will need to make an initial visit to meet the group and look at work in progress and how each group member approaches their response to the project.
Shared knowledge and encouragement are at the forefront of all the work produced by our members. If on joining, you wish to promote a creative textile idea, then that can be shared with the design team who can assist with its development.
Please contact our co-ordinator to arrange a visit.
